Curriculum

At St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, our curriculum is carefully designed and well-sequenced to provide a broad and balanced education that meets the needs of all pupils, giving them the skills, knowledge and understanding to prepare them for their future lives.

Our curriculum, which is rooted in the Gospel Values, ensures that pupils become resilient, successful, and creative life-long learners. Our pupils’ physical development, well-being and mental health are key elements that support the development of the whole child and promote a positive attitude to learning.  Our curriculum ensures that pupils embrace and celebrate our Catholic identity and the culture of our school community.

We provide a wealth of opportunities for learning experiences outside the classroom, seeking to make the most of our London setting by offering a range of enriching educational visits and a huge variety of clubs. Where possible we use our parish, locality and local community to further support learning, working in partnership with parents and families to share expertise and experiences.

Our curriculum celebrates diversity and difference and uses the skills, knowledge and cultural wealth of the church and local community to support the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

We have developed our curriculum to ensure our children leave St. Mary’s with the skills and emotional well-being that they need to flourish in the future and to have a curious mind about the world around them.

Please see our individual subject pages for more information about why, how and when we deliver each subject and ensure progression.
